This week, we continue our study of Chapter 03 on Hilbert space theory and (positive) self-adjoint operators. We will see that every positive self-adjoint operator comes with a semigroup and a resolvent, as well as with a closed form. Thus, on an abstract level, we have all the objects at hand which played a role for finite graphs. However, in order to see these abstract objects in action for infinite graphs, we all have to wait until next week…
