lecture_06_letter

Dear Participants of ISem 23,

We have just uploaded the sixth lecture, which you can find at the following link

https://www.mat.tuhh.de/veranstaltungen/isem23/_media/lecture_06.pdf

or in the forum.

Lecture 6 contains the decisive result for evolutionary equations: Picard's theorem on well-posedness and causality for evolutionary equations.

Using only minimal requirements on the material law, we shall provide the proof for continuous invertibility of the (closure of) $\partial_t M(\partial_t)+A$ and show that the inverse gives rise to a uniformly Lipschitz continuous mapping.

We apply Picard's theorem to the three example PDEs from the introductory lecture.

We very much welcome the discussions in the forum and hope to carry on this discussion in such an active manner.

We encourage everybody to submit their solutions to the exercises. We particularly ask the team from Marseille to provide solutions to the exercises for us to upload.

With the best regards,

the virtual lecturers
